If a member organization has filed an entry about you or your company, you can read it, free of charge, and answer it.

Start with your file

A dispute is filed against a particular entry, so the first step is to see what your file holds. Each entry in it carries a button to dispute it.

What you are entitled to

You can read your file.: Every entry about you or your company: who filed it, what it says and which kinds of evidence support it. It costs nothing, and you don't need an account.
You hear about an entry before anyone can find it.: When a member files an entry about you, Commonfile sends you a notice of what it says, and the entry stays out of search for 10 business days after that.
You can dispute it.: The member that filed the entry has 10 days to respond with support, or the entry stops appearing in searches. Commonfile has 30 days to finish reinvestigating.
Your answer sits beside it.: Your statement, up to 2,000 characters, is shown to every member who finds the entry, at the same size as the entry itself, whatever a dispute decides.
You can see who looked.: Your file lists each member whose search returned an entry about you, when, and the purpose it certified.
It ends.: Every entry expires seven years after the conduct it describes ended. The date is fixed the day the entry is published.

Commonfile accepts records, not allegations. And when a dispute ends with an entry modified or deleted, the outcome goes on the filing member's record, where every other member can see it.
